Looking Back on 2021: Our Service, Culture, Innovations, and Future

As 2021 comes to a close, we look back on the year feeling accomplished and proud. Despite the world being unstable and uncertain outside AbbaDox, inside, it was a year of tremendous growth. 

We owe our success to our dedicated team of AbbaDox visionaries and subject matter experts, as well as our innovative partners and esteemed clients. Together, they fuel our steadfast commitment to providing the most advanced, cloud-based radiology solutions available on the market – a commitment and passion that’s never wavered in the 18 years we’ve been in business. 

We’ve always viewed our success through the lens of four core principles – our service, culture, innovations, and future – and we’re excited to share our progress through each of these in 2021.

The service we provide to our clients is always our top priority. In 2021, we expanded our teams, added new roles, and promoted key talent to ensure we consistently deliver a service that’s above and beyond our clients’ expectations. 

As a Fortune 500 executive once said to us after a presentation, “AbbaDox was cool in the Cloud before the Cloud was cool.” It’s a statement that’s stuck with us for almost a decade now. However, just because you’re the first, doesn’t mean you’ll continue to be the best. That’s why we refined the way we develop and expand our on-demand, SaaS applications. We created a more agile development process to turn client use cases and in-the-field feedback into action with near real-time updates. This has allowed us to deliver a constantly evolving service to our clients that will always put the needs of their business first.  

After 18 years, we know what our customers need, sometimes before they even realize they need it. In 2021, we expanded our as-a-Service model to PACS, Storage, and Infrastructure. Our priority is serving the right set of services to the right users at the right time, without the need for clunky, outdated, and expensive on-premise hardware.

The AbbaDox culture is stronger than ever, and we are proud to have been recognized as a Top 10 Small Business Workplace in the  Sun-Sentinel’s Top Workplaces Awards for 2021. 

This past year, we redefined the way we work. Before the pandemic, everyone worked in the office. But after a year of working fully remote, we wanted to create a new, hybrid environment for AbbaDox headquarters. 

We moved our offices to Aventura, Florida, and built an open, collaborative space where our team can gather, shares ideas, and innovate. Our new office with high-tech, adaptable workstations gives our team flexibility without removing the personal touch of face-to-face interactions and camaraderie. 

No matter where the team was located, we never missed a Friday company lunch, holiday, or celebration.

At AbbaDox, we consider innovation a constant. This year was no exception as we rolled out AbbaDox CareFlow, a complete redesign of the AbbaDox Cloud-Based RIS, and the next generation of our signature platform. CareFlow gives our clients more autonomy, flexibility, and customizability in their RIS workflows and reporting. Our clients now benefit from endless workflow configurations that optimize circumvented workflows, expand to new services, and adapt to new regulatory requirements whenever they need.

In 2021, we took bi-directional texting to another level. We built a bi-directional text console within the AbbaDox appointment workflow to allow imaging center personnel to customize messages and effectively communicate from the RIS itself. The instant communication feature significantly reduces manual time spent communicating with patients to confirm appointments or pre-register upon arrival. This seamless integration is considered a game-changer for imaging centers in streamlining their operations and enhancing their patient experiences.

We also debuted our PACS-as-a-Service application through our strategic partnership with Zadara.  This was yet another powerful 2021 addition to AbbaDox’s offerings, providing a revolutionary PACS solution with unlimited platform-edge compute power, low-latency network access, and infinite storage.

We had a busy year in 2021, and we’re ready to kick things off in 2022 with renewed passion, optimism, and excitement for all the possibilities that lie ahead. We’re in it for the long-term, and after 18 years, we’re more motivated than ever to revolutionize and redefine the way we do business.
